Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings in a variety of sizes. Stainless Steel also known as “SS” is a special category of different iron base alloys which are formulated of different elements like Iron, Chromium, Nickel. These iron base alloys have good mechanical properties and manufacturing characteristics and are corrosion resistance to sea water and concentrated acids.
Commonly, when carbon steel comes in contact with aqueous solutions they tend to form brown iron oxide called rust, on its surface. Due to the presence of Chromium, which is the most important element that gives these iron based alloys their basic corrosion resistance strength and also resistance to oxidation at higher temperatures.

Steel Pipe End Caps, usually liquid- or gas-tight, cover the otherwise open end of a pipe. A caps attaches to the exterior of a pipe, and may have a solvent-weld socket end or a female-threaded interior. The exterior of an industrial cap may be round, square, rectangular, U- or I-shaped, or may have a handgrip. If a solvent-weld cap is used to provide for a future connection point, several inches of pipe must be left before the cap; when the cap is cut off for the future connection, enough pipe must remain to allow a new fitting to be glued onto it.

Types of Steel Pipe End Caps Threaded Caps:
- These caps are female threaded. The thread can be either straight or tapered, also referred as NPT. Generally, plugs have a male thread and caps have a female thread.
Anti-roll Caps:
- These caps are round in shape with a slightly square end. This prevents pipes and tubes from rolling.
Tapered Caps:
- These caps have tapered sides, which offers a close fit. Some of these fittings can be used either as a cap or a plug. Tapered caps and plugs are multi-functional and go well with male and female NPT threads, straight tubes and bars; and male straight threads.

Grade 254 SMO is a very high end austenitic stainless steel. It is designed with a combination of impact toughness resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, and pitting and crevice corrosion with strength that is twice that of the stainless steel 300 series. For certain applications, grade 254 SMO has been reported to be a cost-effective substitute for high nickel and titanium alloys. It is known to possess excellent workability as well.
SMO 254 Buttweld Pipe Fittings (UNS S31254) suited for high chloride environments such as brackish water seawater pulp mill bleach plants and other high chloride process streams. A tee, the most common pipe fitting, is used to combine (or divide) fluid flow. It is available with female thread sockets, solvent-weld sockets or opposed solvent-weld sockets and a female-threaded side outlet. Tees can connect pipes of different diameters or change the direction of a pipe run, or both. Available in a variety of materials, sizes and finishes, they may also be used to transport two-fluid mixtures. Tees may be Equal Tee or Unequal Tee in size of their three connections, with equal tees the most common.
Male and Female Branch Tee:
- The basic difference between the male and female branch tee is that while the male branch tee connect to a female NPT thread, the Female Branch tee connects fractional tubes to male NPT threads. These type of fittings come in inch and metric size tubing and are widely used in a number of industries.
Types of Tee Pipe Diverter tee:
- This specialized type of tee fitting is used primarily in pressurized hydronic heating systems, to divert a portion of the flow from the main line into a side branch connected to a radiator or heat exchanger.
Combo tee:
- A combination tee (combo tee, combo wye, tee wye, long-sweep wye, or combi) is a tee with a gradually curving central connecting joint: a wye plus an additional 1/8 bend (45°), combined in one 90° unit.
Sanitary tee:
- A sanitary tee has a curved center section. In drainage systems, it is primarily used to connect horizontal drains (including fixture trap arms) to vertical drains. The center connection is generally to the pipe leading to a trap (the trap arm).
Baffle tee:
- Also called a tee with diverter baffle, a waste tee or an end-outlet tee, it typically connects waste lines before they enter the trap and has a baffle to keep water from one waste pipe from entering the other at the connection.
Double sanitary tee (sanitary cross):
- This fitting differs from a standard cross in that two of the ports have curved inlets. Although it has been used in the past for connecting the drains of back-to-back fixtures (such as back-to-back sinks)

Types of Bend Miter bends:
- Another type of bend is a Miter bend. A Miter bend is a bend which is made by cutting pipe ends at an angle and joining the pipe ends. A true miter bend is a 90 degree bend made by cutting two pipes at 45 degrees and joining them by welding. Similarly three pipes cut at 22.5 degrees will give a 90 degree miter bend.
90 degree stub up bend:
- A 90 degree stub up bend is made by bending a piece of piping into a 90 degree or ‘L’ shape.
Back to back bend:
- A back to back bend is built on from an initial stub up bend, and looks like an elongated ‘U’ shape.
Offset bend:
- An offset bend is made of two equal degree bends in opposite directions. It is used to move the pipe around an object or stagger it up steps or a slope.
Three point saddle bend:
- The three point saddle bend is, like the offset bend, used to move the pipe around obstacles.

Carbon Steel Pipe Fittings is available in different shapes, designs, and sizes to our clients. We also offer these fittings in different grades and specifications such as ASTM A234, ASTM A105, and ASTM A106 Gr. B. Although machinable, the high strengths of these Carbon Steel Buttweld Elbow Pipe Fittings make machining difficult. As an example, machining of our Carbon Steel Buttweld Tee Pipe Fittings is around 20 % slower than for stainless steel. These Carbon Steel Buttweld Cross Pipe Fittings cannot be hardened by heat treatment, which further can, however, be work hardened. Solution treatment or annealing of our Carbon Steel Buttweld Reducer Pipe Fittings can be carried out by rapid cooling after heating to around 1100 Degree C. These Carbon Steel Buttweld Bend Pipe Fittings have good weldability, where all standard welding processes can be used. Our Carbon Steel Buttweld Stub End Pipe Fittings are not quite as easily welded as the austenitic grades but low thermal expansion in duplex grades reduces distortion and residual stresses after welding.

Lap Joint Stub End Fittings are mechanical joints that comprises of two components: The Stub End, which essentially a short length of pipe, which has one end that is flared outwards and the other end prepared to be welded to pipe of the same Nominal Pipe Size (NPS), material and of a similar wall thickness.
Lap joint pipe flanges slide directly over the pipe and are most commonly used with stub end fittings. A pipe is usually welded to the Stub End and the Lap Joint pipe flange is free to rotate around the stub end. The benefit of Lap Joint Stub End Fittings is that there will not be any issues with bolt hole alignment.
Types of Lap Joint Stub End Fittings:
- Stub ends are manufactured in three different types and two standard lengths
- Type “A”: this type is produced and machined to fit lap joint flanges. The mating surfaces of the stub end and the lap joint flange have a matching profile and surface. The lap thickness of type A stub ends is > = the minimum wall thickness of the connected pipe. The outside the stub end and the lap joint flange have a matching profile and surface. The lap thickness of type A stub ends is > = the minimum wall thickness of the connected pipe. The outside corner of type A has a radius to accommodate the lap join flange, whereas the inside corner is squared.
- Type “B”: this type of stub ends is suited for standard slip-on flanges acting as lap-joint flanges. The lap thickness of type B stub ends is >= the minimum WT of the connecting pipe. The lap of these type of stub ends has generally a serrated face. To ensure tight joints, chamfers on the ID side of the flange are required.
- Type “C”: this last type can be used both with lap joint and slip-on backing flanges and are fabricated out of pipes. The lap of C-type stub ends is flared over and the lap thickness is 75% of the connecting pipe WT. Type C has a short fillet outer radius able to host any back up flange.
- Type “CS”: this type is similar to “C” with the difference that the lap face has concentric serrations machined during the manufacturing process.
