The addition of copper in the alloy Monel WERKSTOFF NR. 2.4375 Tubing is what gives the metal its excellent corrosion resistance characteristic in combination with the added advantage of greater tensile strength and hardness properties. Alloy K500 Seamless Tube is suitable to many industries, including oil and gas, chemical processing, petrochemicals and refineries. Alloy K500 Tubing resists corrosion to outstanding levels, in a range of environments: from pure water to non-oxidising mineral acids, salts and alkalis. A tube of nickel-copper 400 alloy, roughly has 67% nickel, it is known for its resistance to sea water corrosion, acids and other corrosive media. Monel 400 is an alloy of nickel and copper, commonly used in critical, high-performance applications. It exhibits high strength, excellent resistance to acids and alkalis, good ductility, and good thermal conductivity. Monel Tubes is an amount of the largest and most versatile, excellent overall performance of corrosion resistant alloys.
This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas medium, hot concentrated alkali is also excellent in corrosion resistance. Also resistant to neutral solution, water, sea water, air, organic compounds corrosion.
An important feature of the alloy is generally not produce stress corrosion cracking, good cutting performance.
Its chemical composition is mainly composed of 30% Cu and 65% Ni plus a small amount of Fe (1% -2%) of the composition. Due to differences in the chemical composition on it can have a variety of alloy grades, but the corrosion resistance and no significant difference between them. Monel400 alloys more resistant to corrosion than reducing media pure nickel, and copper is more resistant to oxidation than the media corrosion.
